Compliance RisksとE-Discovery領域における専門家とAIの役割、そして両者の効果的な活用
14:00PM - 15:00PM
Big Data presents itself as a major challenge during a compliance audit or US litigation. Japanese companies need to have processes in place to navigate the risks involved in managing the large volumes of data when faced with potential allegations of bribery charges (FCPA) or the various other US laws that trigger the need to review sensitive internal communications. In this panel we will discuss how to leverage the most cutting edge technologies in artificial intelligence, data analytics and specialized experts. This panel is ideal for in-house corporate counsel and law firms who are interested in getting up to speed on the latest technologies and techniques

データ・プライバシー:グローバル環境下におけるプライバシーの二面性
15:15PM - 16:15PM
Companies create, store, and archive terabytes of potentially sensitive data. Mountains of data in the form of emails, spread sheets, chats, engineering manuals, internal memos, financial reports, etc. Such data is subject to review and production in the United States during what is called E-Discovery. Another element of data privacy are the various rules and statutes that protect data from being exported without the appropriate consent from the subject, among many other requirements. These new data privacy rules, from California's Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 to Japan's APPI Amendment to Europe's GDPR, have serious consequences. We will discuss the challenges when navigating these new rules without getting into trouble. From the technologies involved in categorizing data to web hosting businesses, no matter how sophisticated your technology stack, there will be sizable volumes of critical corporate information that will need to be reviewed by error-prone human eyes. This panel will discuss best practices to ensure that information is not inadvertently produced or mistakenly categorized. In today's age of information overload from places such as Slack, Line, Jabber, WeChat, Whatsapp, Facebook, Bloomberg terminals, Wickr, audio, emoji, mobile text, etc. never have we been faced with such voluminous data.
